What’s Up with Facebook’s 20% Text Rule?

Getting found on Facebook is the same as getting found on Google. In that you are limited by organic reach. Facebook, like Google wants you to pay in order for your target market to find your business. But they even want you to pay so that your customers can see your content, that’s right… they want to charge you for showing your posts to your customers. That’s why we are all considering Facebook ads right, because not enough people are seeing the posts on our business page.

So remember anything Facebook does, it does out of love money.

So the news that Facebook are changing the rules (as they are want to do) and seem to be phasing out the 20% text rule on ads makes me question why, and why does it matter?

You Tube Video Intro Tips

This week’s #TipsyTuesday Marketing Tip is taken from a post on Savy Sexy Social where Amy Schmittauer talks about the biggest video mistake people make in the first second of their video. I know wat you are thinking “Crikey! Mistakes in the first second, we’re just making our introduction.”

You are bang on.

Amy recommends that you use the first few seconds of You Tube video to make the most impact with your audience by talking with your face on camera to make your introduction instead of using slides and intro music. This enables your audience to connect with you on a more personal level when they see your face and hear your voice.

Whilst I agree with the Human to Human (#H2H) approach (people are human, people like people, people buy from people) I'm not sure I agree with Amy’s video intro strategy for all You Tube videos.
